Describes the acceptable and prohibited ways Customers may use Siteligent and its Services, including security, resource usage, account access, communications, and compliance requirements.

Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) describes the acceptable and prohibited uses of Siteligent and its related websites, applications, plugins, APIs, infrastructure, and services.

This Policy is intended to protect Siteligent, its Customers, users, infrastructure, and third parties while allowing Customers to use the Services for legitimate website management, monitoring, maintenance, reporting, automation, security, and related business purposes.

This Policy forms part of the Siteligent Terms and Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms.

Acceptable Use

Customers may use the Services for legitimate purposes consistent with the functionality of Siteligent and their applicable subscription or service plan.

Customers may use Siteligent to:

  • Manage websites they own or are authorized to manage.
  • Monitor website availability and performance.
  • Perform vulnerability scans on authorized websites.
  • Create and manage backups.
  • Perform website updates and maintenance.
  • Generate reports and analytics.
  • Invite authorized clients, employees, contractors, or team members to appropriate workspaces.
  • Use Siteligent automation and other available features within applicable usage limits.
  • Use Siteligent for legitimate business and website management activities.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Services complies with applicable laws, regulations, third-party rights, and the rights of other users.

Authorized Websites And Security Scanning

Customers may connect, monitor, manage, or scan a website only where they own the website or have appropriate authorization from the website owner or administrator.

Siteligent’s vulnerability scanning functionality may only be used against websites that:

  • Are owned by the Customer; or
  • Have been added to the Customer’s Siteligent account or authorized team workspace with appropriate permission.

Customers must not use Siteligent to scan, test, probe, or assess websites, systems, networks, or services belonging to third parties without appropriate authorization.

Customers must not use Siteligent vulnerability scanning or other functionality to intentionally exploit vulnerabilities, gain unauthorized access, disrupt systems, or obtain information that they are not authorized to access.

Prohibited Activities

Customers must not use the Services to:

  • Gain unauthorized access to Siteligent, its infrastructure, accounts, systems, networks, or data.
  • Gain unauthorized access to third-party systems, websites, networks, accounts, or data.
  • Circumvent authentication, security controls, access restrictions, or other technical safeguards.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services or the normal operation of Siteligent infrastructure.
  • Attempt to compromise, disable, overload, or damage Siteligent systems.
  • Conduct denial-of-service or similar disruptive activity.
  • Use the Services to facilitate unauthorized security attacks or exploitation.
  • Use the Services for fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful activities.
  • Impersonate Siteligent, its employees, partners, or another person or organization.
  • Misrepresent an affiliation with Siteligent or another person or organization.
  • Use the Services to violate the privacy, confidentiality, or legal rights of another person or organization.
  • Use the Services to distribute malicious code, harmful scripts, or other material intended to damage or compromise systems.
  • Use the Services to facilitate phishing, credential theft, or other forms of unauthorized access.
  • Attempt to obtain information from the Services through methods that are not supported or authorized by Siteligent.
  • Reverse engineer, interfere with, or attempt to compromise security mechanisms of the Services except where such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law or by Siteligent in writing.

Resource Usage

Customers must use the Services in a reasonable manner consistent with their intended purpose and applicable plan limits.

Customers must not use the Services in a manner that places an unreasonable or excessive load on Siteligent infrastructure.

This includes excessive or abusive use of:

  • Backups.
  • Website scans.
  • Vulnerability scans.
  • Monitoring requests.
  • API requests.
  • Automated tasks.
  • Storage.
  • Bandwidth.
  • Screenshots or visual processing.
  • Other computing or infrastructure resources.

Siteligent may take reasonable measures, including rate limiting, restricting specific functionality, or temporarily suspending activity, where usage materially affects the stability, security, or performance of the Services.

Circumvention Of Service Limits

Customers must not attempt to bypass or circumvent technical, subscription, account, workspace, site, usage, rate, storage, or other limitations imposed by Siteligent.

This includes attempting to:

  • Exceed the number of websites permitted by a subscription.
  • Circumvent workspace or user limits.
  • Avoid applicable usage limits or rate limits.
  • Create accounts or workspaces for the primary purpose of bypassing restrictions.
  • Manipulate technical mechanisms used to enforce subscription or usage limits.
  • Access features or functionality that are not available to the Customer’s account or subscription.

Customers may upgrade their subscription or contact Siteligent where additional capacity or functionality is required.

Account Access And Credentials

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate authorization to access and manage any account, website, integration, or service connected to Siteligent.

Customers must not:

  • Add websites or services to Siteligent without appropriate authorization.
  • Use credentials belonging to another person without authorization.
  • Share access credentials in an unauthorized manner.
  • Use credentials obtained through theft, deception, or other unauthorized means.
  • Allow unauthorized individuals to access their Siteligent account or workspace.

Customers are responsible for maintaining the security of their Siteligent accounts and for activities performed through accounts under their control.

Reports And Communications

Siteligent may provide reporting, notification, and communication functionality that allows Customers to share website reports and other service-related information with authorized clients, employees, contractors, or team members.

Customers may use these features for legitimate business communications and reporting.

Customers must not use Siteligent to:

  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk communications.
  • Deliberately send reports or notifications to recipients who are not authorized to receive them.
  • Repeatedly send reports or notifications to incorrect or unintended recipients.
  • Use reporting or notification features to distribute fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading communications.
  • Abuse Siteligent’s email or notification infrastructure.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that recipients added to their workspaces or reporting features are appropriate and authorized to receive the relevant information.

Customer Responsibility For Third-Party Services

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights and permissions before connecting a website, account, integration, or third-party service to Siteligent.

Siteligent does not provide authorization on behalf of a Customer to access or manage third-party systems.

Customers must comply with the terms, policies, and applicable requirements of third-party services connected to Siteligent.

Intellectual Property And Third-Party Rights

Customers must not use the Services in a manner that infringes, misappropriates, or violates the intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights of Siteligent or any third party.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that content, websites, materials, data, credentials, and other information they connect to or use through Siteligent are used with appropriate authorization.

Legal And Regulatory Compliance

Customers must use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Customers must not use Siteligent for activities that are unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or intended to facilitate unlawful activity.

Where a Customer’s use of the Services is subject to specific industry, contractual, privacy, security, or regulatory requirements, the Customer is responsible for determining and meeting those requirements.

Artificial Intelligence Features

Where Siteligent provides artificial intelligence features, including Zyra or other AI-powered functionality, Customers must use those features in accordance with this Policy and the Terms.

Customers must not intentionally use AI features to:

  • Circumvent Siteligent security or access controls.
  • Facilitate unauthorized access or attacks.
  • Generate or facilitate fraudulent, deceptive, malicious, or unlawful activity.
  • Attempt to manipulate or compromise Siteligent systems or services.

Customers remain responsible for reviewing and appropriately using AI-generated information and outputs.

Partner And Team Responsibility

Customers that use Siteligent on behalf of clients, organizations, or other third parties are responsible for ensuring that their authorized users, team members, contractors, and clients comply with this Policy.

Partners and resellers are also responsible for communicating applicable requirements to their customers and ensuring that websites and accounts managed through their Siteligent workspace are authorized.

A Customer may be held responsible for violations of this Policy caused by individuals to whom the Customer has provided access where the Customer knew or reasonably should have known of the activity.

Security And Vulnerability Reporting

Siteligent welcomes responsible reports of security vulnerabilities affecting its Services.

If you believe you have identified a security vulnerability in Siteligent, you should report it to:

Security testing or investigation of Siteligent should be conducted responsibly and should avoid accessing, modifying, deleting, or exposing data belonging to other Customers or users.

Customers and security researchers should provide sufficient information to help Siteligent understand and investigate the reported issue.

Nothing in this section authorizes unauthorized access, disruption, data extraction, or other activity that violates this Policy or the Terms.

Monitoring And Enforcement

Siteligent may monitor activity relating to the Services where reasonably necessary to maintain security, reliability, performance, prevent abuse, investigate violations, or comply with legal obligations.

If Siteligent reasonably believes that a Customer has violated this Policy, Siteligent may take appropriate action depending on the nature and severity of the activity.

Such actions may include:

  • Requesting that the Customer stop or correct the activity.
  • Rate limiting or restricting specific activity.
  • Temporarily disabling a feature.
  • Suspending a website from specific functionality.
  • Suspending a workspace.
  • Suspending or restricting an account.
  • Removing access to affected Services.
  • Terminating the Customer’s access where permitted under the Terms.
  • Taking other reasonable measures necessary to protect Siteligent, its users, or third parties.

Where an activity presents an immediate security, legal, operational, or infrastructure risk, Siteligent may take action without prior notice.

Where reasonably practical, Siteligent may provide the Customer with an opportunity to address or correct a violation.

Reporting Violations

If you become aware of activity that may violate this Policy or create a security risk to Siteligent or its users, you may report it to support@siteligent.com.

Reports should include sufficient information for Siteligent to understand the issue and investigate it.

Customers are encouraged to report suspected unauthorized access, security vulnerabilities, abuse of the Services, or other significant violations promptly.

Changes To This Policy

Siteligent may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, technology, security practices, legal requirements, or business operations.

Updated versions may be published on the Siteligent website or communicated through other appropriate channels.

Material changes may be communicated through email, dashboard notifications, platform notices, or other reasonable methods.

Continued use of the Services after an updated Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

Relationship With The Terms

This Policy forms part of the Siteligent Terms and Conditions and applies to all use of the Services.

If there is a conflict between this Policy and the Terms, the Terms shall control unless expressly stated otherwise.

Violation of this Policy may also constitute a violation of the Terms and may result in action under the Terms.
